Naomi Alson and Regina Touhey Serkin come together at Pittsfield Community Acupuncture to offer affordable, supportive group style acupuncture treatments for pain, stress, trauma, addiction and general well being to people in Berkshire County and beyond.

They work as a team to help you return to your greatest health.

Acupuncture is an essential part of Traditional Oriental Medicine, a wholistic health care system with a continuous clinical history of over 3000 years.  Currently, over 1/4 of the world’s population enjoys its health benefits.

Oriental Medicine is based on the idea that if energy is flowing in a balanced harmonious way there will be no pain or dysfunction. Acupuncture, moxa, and herbal medicine along with diet and lifestyle changes can help reestablish this balance within your body. By listening to what you are experiencing and examining your tongue and pulses an acupuncturist can see how the energy is flowing or where it might be stuck. She can then design a treatment plan to help create a free flow of energy and a new, pain free state of health.

At PCA your acupuncture experience will be in a zero gravity chair in a large room. We may use points on your body or on your ear.  You will not need to disrobe as we mostly use points from your elbow or knee down.  After insertion you rest with the needles for up to 45 minutes.  After removal we may place small magnetic balls on your ear to continue the effect of your treatment.  These may remain for up to 4 days.

Acupuncture is safe.  We use single use, disposable, sterile needles, about the size of one strand of hair.  As there is no need for anything to pass through the needle, they are much thinner and less painful than the hypodermic needle your MD may use.  Often patients report no feeling of the needle going in at all.   The incidence of adverse effects with acupuncture is far lower than that of many drugs or other medical procedures used for the same conditions.

Come in and ask if Acupuncture might be a good adjunct to your medical treatment.
